6.         We want our soup hot.

An old Klingon proverb says, “Revenge is a dish that is best served cold.”  Latino workers, you probably don’t know what Klingons are but allow me paraphrase them to make a point: “Soup is a dish that is best served hot.”  No, make that served “very hot.” And when I say “very hot,” I mean almost boiling

How hurtful to us is that lukewarm bowl minestrone or carrot soup?  Friends, the point is this: heat the soup.  Don’t cut corners.  Don’t microwave it, but heat it up until you see bubbles forming.  At that moment and not an instant earlier, cut off the heat.  Serve.  Simple enough?

You can follow this same pattern when you heat water for our tea.  Now when frothing milk for our lattes…  on second thought let's save that for later.
