Overcome By Emotion Lovelorn “Victim 10” Calls Out For Sandusky In Passionate Plea

BELLAFONTE, PA – They came so fast and furious on Wednesday — the cringe-inducing allegations of years of child sex abuse by former Penn State football assistant Jerry Sandusky lodged by a parade of witnesses — yet one child’s testimony stood out from the rest.

Brent Kline, 19 – or “Victim 10” in the indictment – was the last of six boys to testify against Sandusky yesterday.  Sandusky is accused of having molested Kline from the ages of 12 through 15.  Apparently, the prosecution reserved Kline’s testimony for the end of the day to make the most impact on the jury.  Indeed, for roughly one hour Kline testified in horrific detail of his first sexual assault by Sandusky in the Penn State football locker room shower and the many assaults that followed.

What the prosecution did not expect, however, was for their star witness to turn on them.  When the prosecution began asking questions about how the abuse wound down, Kline turned to the defense table – and Sandusky – and erupted in a plea for Sandusky.

“Dammit, Jerr, we had everything!  Why did you have to leave!” shouted Kline from the stand.  “You tore my heart out, you selfish bastard!” continued Kline.

Appearing forlorn and whistful, Sandusky mouthed words to Kline although it was not clear what they were.

The prosecution released the witness immediately after, but the damage was done.  Philadelphia criminal attorney Ezra Berkenwalter said that Kline’s emotional outburst could undermine the prosecution efforts to portray Sandusky’s underage boyfriends as “victims.”  “What Kline did was highlight that many of these relationships were romantic in nature,” said Berkenwalter.  “The jury could see Sandusky as a tragic figure who could not find love due to the constraints society placed upon him.”

The prosecutions next witness is expected to be a maintenance worker that witnessed Sandusky engaging in oral sex in the locker room with an underage boy.  Sandusky remains under house arrest.
