Soldier's Forgotten Spouse; Never Too Late For Bab

Back To First Page

Widely known as a “personal trainer for smart, strong, successful women,” dating coach M. Rudolph Katzenberg has been helping single women past their “best served by” date find love since 2003. Dozens of his clients have had a baby and then divorced, received highly favorable marital dissolution agreements or just had a fully-paid nice meal with an inoffensive suitor. By helping women understand men – what they think, how they act, and what they really want – he empowers women to get what they want. Katzenberg started his career when he wrote his first book, “A Thinking Woman's Guide to Dating After You’re Approaching Menopause.”

Dear Dr. Katzenberg:

I am a sexy, intelligent and independent single woman who just turned 43.  I have read some scary things in the media lately about fertility in women over 40.  Should I believe what I’m reading? I have started to get over the club scene and think I’m ready to settle down.  Do I need to start worrying about whether or not I can get pregnant?  Don’t they have technology now that helps?  I keep reading about these celebrities that have babies in their mid- to late-40s.

Signed,

Sexy Fortysomething

Answer

Sexy Fortysomething, no two words belong together like “sexy” and “fortysomething.”  I can tell you are sexy just from your writing!

Seriously, many, many women peak sexually in their 40s.  Just think about some of our most amazing sex symbols like Angelina Jolie.  Also, many women are most ready to have a baby in their 40s because they are financially and emotionally secure.  If your eat right and work out – I recommend yoga and meditation – there is no reason why you can’t get pregnant in your 40s or even 50s.  I read a story about a woman in India in the 1970s that had a child naturally at the ripe age of 50.  This was before all the technology we have today.  Let me ask you, do you feel any differently than when you were 35?  Of course, not.  Because you aren't.

Find the right man for you, but don’t settle.  Wait until you find someone that worthy of you no matter how hard that search might be.  If you need to consult a fertility expert when the time is right, there are many that can help.  There is no reason why something as superficial as age needs to stop a strong women such as yourself.  I have a feeling nothing stops you, so don't let something as silly as your age.
